Day To Day 03:26
Though I stumble through my day to day To drown in cement cold and gray I come back to you I forget the things I meant to say My brush strokes never stay the same I run straight to you You can keep me so enchanted that I don’t care where I’ve landed My gray will fade away I’ve been black and blue and red and green And all the colors in between And I’ll see it through A tiny light reflecting Always growing and expanding From my heart to you You can keep me so enchanted that I don’t care where I’ve landed My gray will fade away So lay me down For I am tired I just wanna sleep all day Upon your fire So lay me down For I am tired I just wanna sleep all day Upon your fire So lay me down For I am tired I just wanna sleep all day Upon your fire So lay me down For I am tired I just wanna sleep all day Upon your fire

The Bedroom 03:41
The light is soft As outer space The way the sheets caress your face The trees outside Our linen room Slowly sway, begin to bloom So May Has come our way, again And it's true It's all for you Maybe We could stay 'til June If you want it too Yeah, you want it too You want it too A simple tune Comes from you I wrap my arms around your waist Pull up the sheets Let's stay 'til noon A little kiss is all it takes So May Has come our way, again And it's true It's all for you Maybe We could stay 'til June If you want it too If you want it too Yeah, you want it too You want it too So May Has come our way, again And it's true It's all for you Maybe We could stay 'til June If you want it too In the bedroom

Oh this city’s used me Abused me Teased me Pleased me The city lights at night The bars, the cars, the fights The fat cats in the gutter This city’s like no other I’ve seen the dirty looks The cops, the sluts, the crooks The 2AM 6 Train Someone famous in the rain It played a dirty trick on me The drugs, the dusk, the rent money Those cabbies on the corner Can’t say they didn’t warn ya Whistle down the street and wave hello to all you meet Another day in concrete paradise Blooms are on the trees and we’re as happy as can be This city’s all we have in this sweet life Another day in concrete paradise Whistle down the street and wave hello to all you meet (Hello) Another day in concrete paradise (Hello) Blooms are on the trees and we’re as happy as can be This city’s all we have in this sweet life

about

Lilly: This album really feels like a time capsule to me on some days, and on other days, it feels like we could’ve written these songs yesterday. Even though the album has obvious ties to our lives in New York City, the concepts of financial struggle, basic survival, and companionship are constantly relevant. Songs like Numbers, Patterns, Bot Pop, and Day To Day, all have a feeling of societal frustration and hardship, especially in today’s climate of being an artist. The Bedroom, My Bike, and Keepin’ It Together find the reverse side of the coin with feelings of finding comfort in others and self. There is a constant topic of escapism as well. Almost like living in a state of constant daydreaming. Every song feels deeply personal to us, but are all open to interpretation by the listener, based on their own struggles and longing. Performing these songs has been therapeutic for me in trying to process all of the joys and woes of life, and I hope our listeners feel the same sensation.

Will: We had limited time to write in our studio in Bushwick. That being said, a majority of these songs were written after long days of work, and even longer subway rides.
I think this feeling is reflected in the music. I feel that at its core, all of these tunes are love songs. They may possess something darker to tackle, but always find themselves returning to love or belonging. The struggles that we have as human beings, be that depression, addiction, loneliness, or feeling like we don’t understand the world or society, can be dealt with through art. For us, our outlet is writing music. The song, "Shuffle When You Walk”, is a great example of our struggle with this. I remember coming home late and exhausted one evening. Lilly had written Shuffle and played it for me in its entirety. I cried. It gave me something I really needed at that moment, and it was incredible to share an experience like that with the person who understands me the most. When I wrote the lyrics for the song, "Day to Day”, I again felt sad, maybe desperate for a way out, but it’s returning to the thought that Lilly will be there for me, despite a terrible week/month/year. The Whistle Song feels a bit more tongue and cheek, applying a showtune-esque songwriting style that is both sentimental and sulky about our feelings for New York. I really feel that this album is our love letter to the human race.

Pleasure Prince Colorado

Lilly Scott & William Duncan form the electronic duo, Pleasure Prince. Both songwriters and producers, the two have crafted a cinematic essence of steamy synth-pop. NYC blog The Deli Mag, noted their vocals “echo the sweetness and retro-futuristic sci-fi edge of the much beloved Broadcast.” Blending electronica and psychedelic influences, they are an emerging band that deserves more attention. ... more
